Matthew Okerson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\nMatthew Okerson is a former communications specialist in the U.S. Army. During his eight years of service, he was deployed to Kosovo and OIF II in Kuwait. During his deployment, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for supporting division sized units with valuable communications during the staging process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After Matthew’s service in the Army, he continued to serve our country by working in Iraq and Afghanistan for the next ten years as a contractor. During that time, he was embedded with the U.S. Special Forces and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service for his work supporting small satellites for SF Teams to be able to communicate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Currently Matthew works as a Cyber Security Engineer for the Department of Health Army at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. He’s married to his lovely wife Frances and has a 12-year-old son. His hobbies include going to the gun range, motorcycle rides through the hill country, and gardening. He also volunteers in his community as an election clerk and voter registrar. He also attended the 2022 Texas GOP State convention as a delegate.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
